Values / Focus

In order to be faithful to the mandate Christ has given to His Church, we must be focused on His leading and be deliberate in our actions.

At Faith River, our primary areas of focus are:

  • Authentic Worship
  • Strong Church Family Relationships
  • Fruitful Evangelism
  • Practical Community Impact

Our strategies for moving forward in these focus areas are guided by our values.

Faith River’s Core Values:

A commitment to Teaching the Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God, and we will preach and teach its truths in a practical, positive and relevant manner.

A commitment to a Multigenerational Congregation

We believe that our local body is healthiest when all generations are represented and are an integral part of the work and functioning of the church.

A commitment to Prayer

We believe the Holy Spirit empowers, leads and blesses His people through prayer; we consider prayer to be vital in every aspect of church life.

A commitment to Every Member Involvement

We believe that every person in the church family is a minister, and should be encouraged and equipped to become meaningfully involved in their area of giftedness.

A commitment to Cultural Relevance

We believe that in order to effectively impact a changing world with the unchanging message of Christ, we must strive to remain relevant to the needs of our community.

A commitment to Functional Church Governance

We believe in a system of governance that adjusts over time to meet the needs of a growing church. When built on a structure of congregational input and support it will enable us to effectively and joyfully carry out the work Christ has called us to do.

A commitment to Leadership Development

We believe that in order for the church to function effectively, staff and volunteer leaders need to be identified, called, trained and equipped for ministry.

A commitment to Christ-centered, Celebrative Worship

We believe that God’s people are called to worship Him corporately and creatively, and that our worship should include a variety of expressions, be Christ-centered, contemporary, and celebrative in nature.

A commitment to Lifestyle Evangelism

We believe that all Christians, through their personal life and testimony, supported by the church, should seek to draw others to a personal relationship with Christ.

A commitment to Spiritual Growth

We believe that the church should encourage and facilitate an ongoing journey of spiritual discovery and growth for everyone who is seeking, investigating or following Christ.

A commitment to Conference Support and Involvement

We believe in the value of spiritual care and support provided by our MB Conference, and therefore we will be supportive and involved in our Conference.

A commitment to Care and Support

We believe that every person who is a part of our church family should receive the care and support they need through ministries of the church and through loving relationships.
